This is a stitched panorama of a massive Supercell near Hobbs, New Mexico on the first day of our Storm Chasing adventure. It made the 8 hour drive from Oklahoma City worthwhile.

The turquoise / green in the centre of the cell indicates ice formations being lit up by the cloud to cloud lightning.

A massive lightning storm erupted near Dexter, New Mexico.

A break in the clouds, produced this strong band of colour in an otherwise grey sky.

For 5 minutes at sunset, the sun lit the clouds beautifully.

Composite image of 4 long exposures. I got eaten alive by Mosquitos too. But worth it.

After a long day chasing this storm, it touched down briefly at a distance, but managed to get this shot with a long lens.
